The competition in the smartphone industry continues. Companies are working tirelessly to stay ahead in the competition, and undoubtedly, this benefits users primarily due to the increase in product diversity. iQOO, which started as a subsidiary of Vivo in 2019 but now operates independently, is one of these companies. The company will soon introduce the iQOO 12 to users, and the technical specifications of the models were recently revealed.
iQOO 12 series’ specs
Digital Chat Station has unveiled the technical specifications of the upcoming iQOO 12 series. According to this information, the smartphones will feature a Samsung E7 AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the Pro model of the series will include an OmniVision OV64B periscope sensor.
It’s worth noting that the iQOO 12 series has a metal build and supports 200W fast charging. Furthermore, both models are expected to be equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C 3.x port. The Pro model will offer options for up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. Currently, the storage and memory options for the standard model have not been shared.
The smartphones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Qualcomm has set the launch date for the chipset as October 2023. The new processor will be showcased at Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Summit, scheduled to take place in Maui, Hawaii, from October 24 to 26.
Aside from the launch date, the new processor is expected to impress with its performance. According to the information received, the processor will feature a significant performance boost and will host a Cortex-X4 core with a clock speed of 3.7GHz. Changes in the core architecture of the processor are also expected.
The iQOO 12 series, expected to be introduced in October, will run on the Android 14-based Origin OS 4.0 interface right out of the box.
